Hi All
I am in the process of purchasing a donor car to help with the repair of my stag
. I have a hired a trailer for the weekend. When speaking to my car insurers they inform me that the trailer is only covered third party and its contents (the donor car) will not be covered. This is despite my policy being full comp.
I asked about including them in the full comp policy and they said they could do it for the trailer but not the contents. However, the policy is trailer specific which is not a sodding lot of use seeing as it is a hired one!
Has anybody got any suggestions on who to contact with regards to insuring the donor car itself duirng the 200 mile journey to my house? Do I need to take a seperate policy out for the donor car? I had hoped to just take out a fire and theft policy on it once it was safely stowed in the garage but I suppose that won't cover it on its journey.
