    Seat Removal

    Hi ,
Need to remove my drivers seat , and was unclear as to how to approach it , do the runners seperate ? , leaving the bottom runner attached to the floor plan ( And if so is there a technique or catch , a bit like a drawer runner ) , or do I have to unbolt the whole seat assembly from the floor .
A bit of guidance would be much appreciated
    Cheers

        Hi Steve,

It's easier if you slide the seat back to access the front bolts and forward to access the rear ones. They're all 1/2" AF.

As long as your bolts aren't seized (which is unusual), it's a two minute job (took my passenger one out last night).

        Cheers

Julie's at work right now so I've got peace and quiet. Good thinking though Russ !

Hi Steve, As most others have said - there are 4 bolts that can be unbolted from the runners. Slide the seat forward for the back ones, back for the front ones.

Once it's off, be prepared for fun and games if you're wanting to remove the runners from the seat as there's a bloody pesky locking "internally splined" washer - you'll see it when you have the seats upside down. Easiest thing with that is screwdriver behind to lever it forward, then judicious use of banging instruments and drifts. To refit, use a socket that's the same size face, "glue it" with a bit of grease on the end so it stays on the socket end and smack it on with a persuader.

Be careful with the bolts that hold the back in place if you're going to strip it all out - they['re very easy to cross-thread and not so easy to re-tap :-)

Thanks for the info , I'll be taking the seat out at the weekend - am keen to sort out the side bolsters and the base over the coming week or two - Cheers Steve
