Just about to revisit my rusty Java hardtop - see if it can be saved, although my Stag has a garage home again, that is when there isn't something else parked there...
Drove someone elses with the hardtop on and it changes the car quite a bit - which I'd forgotten - fancy a bit of that....Last edited by GDPR; 24 September 2013, 19:48.

Not that it's happened very often - but it surprised me too how the whole character of the car changes with the hard top on.
That said - going topless is easily the most desirable4x4 Manual OD Stag

The one we had a was a Lenman. The rear quarter windows wouldn't open and generally I couldn't see any advantage over a sorted metal one as you can't even weigh it in for scrap! Which is the where the metal one stored behind our bins is likely to head unless I can work out how to reconstruct the entire lower rear section.

Still sitting there Kev - as was mentioned earlier there is little difference in weight (due to the glass more than anything), it is poorly finished and has a complete side catch leg that needs making from scratch - going to have a hard look at the steel one which has thin side members (rust) and a very thready rear skirt... now the garage is clear, I might be more inclined to get the welder out and stitch a few bits in, put some filler in and then throw some paint at it...

There has to be a 'good market' for a light weight, and reasonably priced, Stag hard top, so lets hope they've got it all sorted.
Cheers
