The voltage at terminal C looks about right considering the battery voltage under load and voltage drops through the jump leads.

Please confirm that you have 0v on C when everything connected but starter not running.

      Klaus,
I have just replaced my starter with one from these www.britishstarters.com
That is exactly how I hooked it up and it works great. Spins over much faster than the original.
Battery to your terminal A, Ignition to B, Coil to C; that's how the manufacture said to hook up as well.

        Sorry Klaus,

I just couldn't restrain myself anymore......

        The answer isn't 42, it's 1/137

            Hi Klaus,
RNF has fitted the same starter as mine; which we discussed in the other thread, is similar to yours. Mine has been turning the engine over very well; great little starter.

John, yes it is almost zero.
              --2,0 mV between C and A
              --0,1 mV between C and (-) = housing

              Why did you ask?

Tanya, I envy you and RNF because your starter motor is from Nippondenso = Toyota!
Who is the manufacturer of "Power Lite"?

                Klaus,
I will say that since installing the new starter, the car has never started better or easier. They do ship to Europe - I have no affiliation other than being a happy customer. Since we have the brake line in the way, I just dropped the exhaust downpipe and out it came no problems.

                  Many thanks RNF,
I have meanwhile no doubt that the new starter will work perfectly. Will be installed over winter. (First snow in Munich today and snow chaos south of Munich. That's very early this year!)

                    Klaus.

Just wanted to double check that the terminal was doing exactly what it was supposed to do, as there have been some strange suggestions earlier about its function.
