    Rear Wind Deflector

I've just finished making a rear wind deflector. I used the car with only the perspex part installed and found almost no buffeting around my head and shoulders but lots of breeze below the waist line so to speak - Pretty much what I expected. When I fitted the rear tonneau portion it cut down the breeze below the waist but there was more buffeting around the head and shoulders which is a bit disappointing. Both cases with windows up.
    Anyone else noticed this?

My Stag came with a genuine BosScreen. I also bought one of the mesh type, which I have used for the past couple of years. Put the BosScreen back in this year but there is noticeably more buffeting, and wind noise, than with the mesh one, especially with the windows up.

I contemplated a mesh screen instead of perspex.I guess I'll have to get working on a frame.

I had a mesh screen in my Spitfire, and it worked a treat.

Am planning one for my Stag too. Have you any photos of how you are attaching it (or the Perspex one)?

I'm keen to do the same (if I ever get the roof off!!!)

Here is a link to the thread a few years ago when a couple of bulk buys were organised from a company called SVA:

Does anyone know if these are still available?

            Hi,

I made a "Breeze Buster & Tonneau Cover" for my car and did an article on it for our Grampian Stags http://www.grampianstags.net/home.htm website.

Here is a link to the article http://www.grampianstags.net/Wind%20Breaker.pdf also have a look at the Technical page, there is a lot of good information.

The one I made looks remarkably similar to Ricard Saunder's photos here.

Except I used velcro flaps at the side instead of the hooks on the Bossscreen as there is velcro on the sides of the hood to attach to.
If I make a mesh equivalent I'll need to fabricate a frame to hold the mesh. Any ideas?

Nick see my previous posting, I used microbore copper tubing to form the frame.

A good secondhand Audi A4 mesh screen is very effective. Not to everyone's taste but simple and cheapimage.jpg

Steve, I have one of those too. How do you keep the horizontal one down and not rattling? I use a bungee on the two "blades it has at the rear, and hook them over the lower seat belt mounting at bottom of B posts - can't see bungees on yours though.

It just sits there, never had to bungee it on the horizontal part, just got two velcro strips around the T Bar at the top. Doesn't rattle at any speed, even over our roads down here in Kent! Tested on the M20 at 70 plus a bit more - no vibration and very effective.

They are effecyive - maybe I don't need the bungees though, but I just saw it as being better to be tied down

I have a Bosscreen but fancy the mesh version so I've bought an Audi A4 one which I'm hoping to fit to the Bosscreen bottom bar as I like the vinyl tonneau, not got the A4 one yet so will have to see how I get on with the modifications.
