Drain tubes

Having struggled to locate mine, I realised that I didnt have any on the car. Ordered some and hoping to fit tomorrow, but I have been told they should exit from the rear inner wheel arch, which seems to conflict with opinion on this forum in previous threads. I certainly have no holes in the rear inner wheel arch from which to exit the tubes, and the grommets I have been sent are quite large.

Can any one post a picture to show me where they should exit the car please?

One previous thread seems to suggest they exit under the car via the recess in the rear inner wing, which lies directly under the chrome striker for the hardtop. I mentioned this to a Stag owning associate, who said that this goes into the sill, and is not the right place to exit, for obvious reasons.

Hi Covsprint,

They are not that easy to locate under the car unless you know where to look, it took me a long time to find mine. They do exit just in front of the rear wheel arch but are not really visable unless you stick your head underneath!
If yours are there you will be able to see the tubes in the hood well, when the hood is out of the way. They start from under the chrome U shaped bit that is just behind the B post and run diagonally down to just in front of the wheel arch. (When I could see them from the top it still took a little while to find them underneath:shock.

Here's a photo of the drivers sidedrain tubeson my car.

The camera was held up between the two pivots of the drivers side semi trailing arm and aimed toward the area just in front of the rear wheel arch. Hope this helps.
