Speedo Mileage

I've just got a recallibrated speedo for the car as doing 100mph in second down Barnet High Street couldn't go on indefinitely however the mileage is set to zero is there an easy way of putting my current mileage on that doesn't involve recreating that scene from Ferris Buellers day off?

Julian, would you mind PM'ing me also. I had my speedo recalibrated by a forumite and he reset the mileage to zero also. While I have made a note in my records of when this was done, I'd prefer it to be showing the real mileage.

It is, a bit

The tecnique could be used to wind BACK a speedo although I would hasten to add that I have never 'clocked' a car.

Btw did you know that on most or all , modern cars, even if you fit a new speedo then it will automatically reset itself to the correct mileage for the car ?

Also, with OBD (On Board Diagnosis) systems, you can 'interrogate' the car and tell how it's been driven and loads of other info.
