I believe the price quoted was about £2,500 per pair excluding cams as they are no longer available, so will have to use your existing ones. Expensive option but one that had to be done.
Haven't they been down this road before? I remember there were the so called 'millennium heads' produced, I assume around 2000? What happened to that exercise?
They have revisisted this an built on the knowledge then and applied new experience and knowledge in producing these new heads. I have seen the cut aways exposing the new water ways etc comparedto a standard head and very impressive they are.
I thought it was time to ask the question how far on are we now with these heads ?
As the project has been on going for some years now. Yes I have seen them at the national show but when will they be available to buy.
This might sound a bit daft, but as with all things SOCTFL
I believe club funds go into to help with tooling etc
If this is the case will club members be given first option to buy and given a sensible discount..
I think that would be fair..
For the current state of play you would be best to contact Abinger Hammer themselves, i think Roger Morrish is the name to ask for; 01306 730427 .

I tried that last year when the heads were being advertised as being ready in 2013 - I never got a definitive answer and gave up!
I see now they are being advertised as being ready in 2014 - well I guess it's only April so some time left.........
I was talking to Mike Allen at National day last year and we got on the subject of cylinder heads, he said that they were looking for a different foundry to cast they heads as the had a problem with water leakage, as in the heads were porus, it was a problem he thought they could overcome but as we all know the wheels of commerce turn very slowly when it comes to development work. The sample head that was at national day did look pretty good, looks of work gone into them.
