That sounds hellish expensive:shock:Why did you pay them to EZP your old fasteners? Why didn't you just purchase new EZP ones? Or Stainless ones?
Cheers
Bruce
Well the zinc plating was a very small cost for the fasteners, most of the cost ( about 50%) was in repair work.
Also I'm sick and tired of the rubbish parts I get sent. For example I bought new overrider coach bolts - did they fit? Not even close. The corner bracket that fits the bumper rear - incorrect. So I now recondition original parts, with a few exceptions.
I could have got it all done cheaper, or gone with repro bumpers:shock:, but I bought new chrome door bowls ( had to send 1 back it was rubbish ), new edging strips, they've discoloured! After 6 weeks! At least I know these bumpers are going to look fantastic for many years to come. An MGB owner showed me his S & T chromed bumpers - they were done 15 years ago and still looked fantastic. That clinched it for me.
(No connection to S & T, just a satisfied customer ).
S&T were at the Malvern classic car show earlier this year and had products on display, the quality of the chrome was fantastic and I got the impression that nothing would leave there place unless it was perfect.
I had a reproduction rear bumper put on my stag around this time last year, it was an insurance job after some toe rag drove in to the back of me at the lights then a motorbike hit him police involved etc.
Anyway damage was only to the bumper so the local car repair center ordered a whole new bumper, fittings and all from a national triumph/rover suplier. I have to say the quailty of the chome work now is very poor after just a year and my stag lives in the garage most of the time, the total price was about £700 so £1100 for front and backis a good price for the quailty and longativity that rechoming the originals offer.
