    Got to be worth it.

This has got to be worth getting to chuck in the boot / hood well to carry as a spare, less than a tenner with free P&P . a bargain

Without trying to come across too hastily, it was one of these coils that caused me more issues than it was worth on my Stag (along with a chap I know with a 1980 Spitfire 1500 which also uses a ballast coil). The car would be fine when cold, but it would start to hesitate above 2000rpm with this coil on until it cooled off. It does still work (I may lend it to friends as a method of ruling out a dead coil) but not as intended IMO .

Robsport et. al sell these for around £10-15 as well. Fortunately I had a Bosch Red Coil knocking about (the Blue (non ballasted) versions are quite renowned for being reliable in the VW circles), which cured the problem. The Beru equivalent (also red) seems to be quite good too. Both are wax filled and cooled as opposed to using oil as the cheaper ones do. It is a shame they are £40 though.

    It's just my 2p's .
