    Stag MK 1 1/2

I'm aware that these cars exist. I dont know what cars car be placed into this catagory? Just wondered if there any physical differences between this model and the ones before and after?

I guess there's not many of these cars around?

Thanks in advance for your knowledge.

They are cars that were assembled with a mixture of Mk 1 and Mk 2 parts, the body shell being Mk1. if you look at my car (album in my profile) it is mainly, in appearance, a Mk2 but has Mk1 doors and locks. and the Dash has no Hazard warning switch, they are the most obvious things. Mine came off the production line 31st August 1973.

          Hi,

These cars are effectively the 3rd Sanction Stags and were built between October 17th 1972 and November 22nd 1973 (LD20001 to LD25432), although the true Mk1 cars were built until November 10th 1972 and the true Mk2 cars started on September 14th 1973. I.E. There was some overlap between the last of the 2nd Sanction cars and the first of the 3rd Sanction cars, and also between the last of the 3rd Sanction cars and the first of the 4th Sanction cars.

As Ian says, they should have Mk1 doors and locks and no hazard lights.

No doubt there will be someone along with a car that doesn't fit into the above definitions, but a) Triumph record keeping was rather haphazard, and b) It is now over 40 years past, so many cars have been subject to changes/bodges/ringing since then.

Over 5k made? That more than expected. Who cares most are tax exempt? No real differences.

            Thank you for the info.
