    The Stag goes home.

When I went down to Stoneleigh last week I thought my Stag might enjoy a visit to where she was built - after all it's possible that she may not have been there for 36 years!

    Brian.

I think, going by the quality of some of ST's output, that many of the workers spent a little too much time in that building...

I drove my Stag along Fletchampstead Highway in Canley a few months ago - where I used to go to the factory when I worked with Triumph.

So sad that there's virtually nothing left

          Cheers

            Hi Brian

I think I passed you on the way to Stoneleigh on the M54.
I was a passenger in my brother's Japanese washing machine as I was unable to drive due to a recent operation on my right hand. (Duypedrens restricture or something. Too much spindle polishing my brother says)
My Stag is Maple Brown and I've been thinking for some time now of buying some Minilite wheels. I know yours is Russet Brown but I like the effect and seeing your car has made up my mind.
Can you please tell me where you bought your wheels and did you have any problems and 14" or 15"?

            Thanks

            Steve

I went there for the first time a few years ago when we stayed in the hotel that is now built on where the production lines used to be. (Or so I was told by someone there who used to work at the factory.) I have to admit to it being a very emotional trip. I've been driving Triumphs since 1974 and our 3 boys all had their first trips in one.

                Ho hum...

                Cheers,
                Mike.
Mine since 1987. Finished a 20+ year rebuild in 2012. One of many Triumphs and a 1949 LandRover!

                  Hi Steve,

It probably was me on the M54! The wheels which I have are KN Minator minilite replicas which I bought from Tyresave (handily 5 mins from where I work) in Connah's Quay, near Chester. http://www.tyresave.co.uk/

They are 15" and originally I had Goodyear Excellence tyres - which gripped like nothing I have ever known - but currently I have Yokohama 195/65 fitted. They have been through 5 winters and still look good. My speedo reads about 2mph fast at 60mph, so not far out. I'm not sure of the offset etc but I found Duncan at Tyresave very helpful (no connection etc etc). I have not had any problems with them so far...Hope this helps.

                  Regards
                  Brian.
