My Mums 1964 Mini 850 at age 16 on Desborough Airfield.

i used to fly model airplanes there with the local club and my father left the car there for me to use as a base (and shelter!). I wired the ignition one day and had a spin on my own! When he found out, he let me drive it around the airfield to learn properly with him by my side of course! He never left it there with me on my own again.

Hey I used to race my brothers van around Desborough Airfield. Think I missed the model airplanes, used them as a slalom.
At 12 I used to drive my Dads A40 around Harringworth Airdrome

My dad's 1968 Singer Vogue Estate, on private land when I was 11years old. The second car I drove was his 1975 Triumph 2000 and I've been hooked ever since

My parents Herald 13/60 estate. Although it had nothing to do with my later love of Stags.

Original Mini. My abiding memory is the obese instructor's right leg resting against the gearstick whenever I changed gear
