Don't know which ones you are a member of Steve, but I tried CT a few years ago. Complete waste of money, for a Stag owner IME. The Stag section of their forum is very quiet.

Last time I was on CT Stag forum, I was subject to some cowardly abuse by a bunch of complete w****rs who had someone else's axe to grind - couldn't even face up himself - mindless knobs led by an even bigger knob...

Agreed the forum is quiet, but the camaraderie and support on their long distance events are par excellence. It all depends what you want out of a club, a social club (SOC) or a club that does some really exciting testing events (CT) a la RBRR, !0 Countries Run, Track days, Rallies etc. For example, having completed 2 RBRR's, done 3 10CR's I have felt that the Stag has been a superb car on these events, and my entry for the 2014 event has just been sent in. There are always a few Stags on these events, and like the big saloons are excellent tourers. I am also a member (and current AO) of the TSSC which also has a good Stag contingent, and I view that club as a halfway house between the two extremes of SOC and CT as although it is more show orientated than CT, also organises some good international events, for example Classic Le Mans, and Classic Spa.

I agree the Stag forum has far more technical information for the Stag owner than either CT or TSSC, but then it is a one car club so it is more focussed in that area, look beyond the 'Stag' area of the other forum and you will see a greater breadth of activities on line than appear on the Stag forum

Have to say my experience on CT was unpleasant. An (to my mind) innocent question about a rotisserie/spit for a stag brought a claim of elitism; because I had posted the question in the stag forum and not in general, because the spit could have been used for other Triumphs!. And IIRC at least one member on here who responded to the comments was also subjected to unpleasant and in my view, unnecessary abuse. The experience left a very bad taste with me.

Unfortunately Baz and Steve, in my case, my belief, and subsequently unofficially confirmed, that the offenders were from here after I quit the forum the first time, and were connected with the reason I quit....

Too cowardly to use recognisable user names though, they crawled back under the stones they emerged from eventually

It was reported and an interesting dialogue with the CT mods regarding IP adresses of the offenders was very helpful in working out who they were...

Thanks for letting me know Russ, I couldn't imagine the many decent people I've met on the CT forum and trips that I've done with them taking that sort of attitude.

I have been a member of both the TSSC and CT forums. I continue to be a member of the CT one as it's GT6/Spitfire section is a good place for technical info and support etc for our GT6. The Stag section is so quiet its verging on being "moribund"!

I dropped the TSSC membership as it didn't offer me anything that the CT and SOC couldn't.

As many of you will be aware I have been running a thread on here charting the resto of our GT6. I have also been running a mirror thread in the CT GT6/Spitfire section. Guess which thread had more viewings/comments? Yep, the one on this SOC forum. Work that one out!

                  Regards
