Bottom Hose Fouling

Having only aquired my first Stag in May I decided it would be prudent to change the antifreeze and put on new hoses and Hose Clips while going it.
OK so far but the lower Hose Elbow at the Steel pipe end on the Alternator fan. Any suggestionas to how to clear this would be greatfully received.

Hi Stan,

It's not unusual for the alternator fan to catch on the pipe or clip. Just juggling thingsaround will usually sort it. Move the hose a bit on the metal'pipe or fit the jubilee clip in a slightly different place etc.

Hi Stan
The hoses tend be a little long sometimes.you might need to take some off,not much under 20mm should do it.

also make sure everything clears before you fire up..

I had the same problem , messed about for ages moving hose clips ect . In the end I went drastic and took the fan off the alternator fan off and ground the corner off where it was hitting on a bench grinder . I've had no problems since .

Just a thought the two right angle hoses connecting the pipe to radiator and pipe to engine should be different part numbers do you have two of the same or the right parts the wrong way round.

Many Thanks to all who replied. I had the elbows on correctly, had checked with Paddocks which was which. I fiddled around numerouse times, eventuall loosened all but the connection to the water pump and the connection to the Radiator. I moved the SS pipe up further into the top elbow and bved the bottom elbow to SS pipe clip down. I then used lever to force the whole thing away from the alternator fan and restrained the lever while tightening everything again. Everything is now fine with good clearence. Thanks again all. At least I knew I was not alone.
