    I,m no expert but i,m thinking thats a rover lump . Not a pur but more grunt i like it both ways

      Yep nice Triumph v8, sounds better due to the Holley carb, tubular manifolds and straight through exhausts! I love those mods! Regards Jon

        Also did a quick video of some suggested improvements based on my experience, may not be to everyone's taste but a personal opinion:

          I'll not comment on your improvements other than to point out that you will lose the lot if you don't get rid of those Kevlar hoses. They are not suitable for the Stag and have been proven to fail dramatically with no prior warning. Get the proper SOCTFL reinforced hoses from the usual outlets and fit them before it's too late.

            There are no Kevlar hoses on my engine. I wonder why it gives the impression there are?

              What's that label around the top hose where it joins the radiator? It looks very much like the label that was on the so-called Kevlar reinforced hoses that came onto the market several years ago.

                I'll have a look when I get home. Ta. You could be right, although that one has been on there for many years and seems nice and strong. Can you link me to reports of problems with these hoses. Thanks.

                  Type Kevlar in the search box on this forum. Plenty of reading material here. There were some pictures of Kevlar hoses that split without warning, but not sure if they are still here.

                    Thanks, looks a possible risk. Better change at some time I guess despite being there for years without a problem.
