Ideas on a reasonalbe courier to move 4 wheels and tyres across the country?

    Guys

I'm thinking of buying Kev's spare alloys and tyres. He's just bought Minilites. Problem is that he's in South Wales and I'm in Yorkshire. Too far to go and collect.

Can anyone recommend a good courier to use who can transport them without losing then but not charging the Earth?

    Thanks

    Chris

      Chris,

If you're not in a hurry it may be possible for some forum members to pick then up and pass them on to each other and then on to you, a sort of human chain if you like. Being based in Stoke I could pick up from an area in an arc from Birmingham to Shrewsbury and deliver to Manchester / Nottingham (or meet someone anywhere in between). If you're stuck just ask, I'm sure there are others who would be happy to help. It's slow but cheap !!

Thanks - checked their website and that's not bad. Knowing that's what they specialise in helps and the price is less than £30. I'll look closer tomorrow.

        Thanks

I'm in Corby Northants, and need to go to East Yorkshire prior to Xmas if that's any help.

Thanks for the offer but I think you're nearer to me than Bridgend. For under £30 by Paisleys I think it's cheaper than fuel never mind the time.

If you're passing though give us a shout. Anyone coming into East Yorkshire from South or West has to virtually pass my door.

I've heard others recommend Paisley Freight, although have no personal experience.

Mark (Stokey Stag) - sorry I missed your reply - I think I was putting on a post at the time. Again thanks for the offer and in many ways it would be fun to organise moving a set of wheels around the country and just relying on the undoubted goodwill and honesty of forum members. I know it could be done and we'd all be very happy to have helped. But for under £30 by Paisleys I think I'll take the easy route - if I can agree a price with Kev that is.

No probs Chris, it was just an idea that has been used successfully before.

I have used Citylink to ship the Esprit wheels I bought in UK to Belgium. 32.99+VAT for 4, which was by far the cheapest I could find. Excellent service too, with notification by email and SMS on the day of delivery.

I have used them several times and the on-line service has always been good..
The only down side was once when I needed to call them it took several attempts to get an answer.
That does seem to be the norm and sadly becoming acceptable in present times..
