Size of steering wheel

Looking a possibly upgrading from the stag steering wheel to maybe a mota lita wooden wheel when finances allow. I guess tha a dished wheel would be recommended but I'm unsure of which size would suit the car. Any thoughts?

im sure you have heard size doesnt matter! i have a moto-lita its a 14" dished. mk1 had a 15" & a mk2 had a 14" i think from factory. its your choice and what's comfortable.

I found the Mark 1 wheel a bit restrictive when getting in and out so I switched to the smaller Mk 2 wheel. Tempted by a Moto Lita as I have one on the MGB but I like the Stag centre boss.

Nick i like the STAG in the centre boss so when i had my moto lita wheel i had a machine shop to cut STAG in the same size font in my new boss cap
and then painted the letters black. you can just make it out on my avatar picture.

Nick, I felt the same, so trimmed the lugs off a spare Stag pad and attached to a lovely new 14" dished leather Mota Lita using self adhesive Velcro pads instead of the supplied boss. Works a treat.

I fancy a 13inch mota lita wheel as i find even the 14inch wheel to big and it's not thick enough IMO

saffronstag what is the wheel called that you have as I like the style of that one as it's the same as the std stag one

I have one on order from Santa as, like you, I find the 14" wheel too big.

It's the thin slot spoke option rather than usual holes.

As you can get wooden wheels for the Xjs etc. doesn't anyone re-make the Stag wheel in wood ??

My mk2 has a mk1 wheel, I think it's about 16"...I hope to replace it with a moto lita of the same size, I would prefer to have a wooden Nardi but there seems to be no info on them...
