Air cleaner box - inside

Hi everybody,

I've bought a 2nd hand air cleaner box which I will repaint now. It came without any paint inside (but a bit rusty). Were the boxes painted inside when they left the factory? And if so, in the same colour as outside? The outside I will paint with the Ford Dove Grey.

Hi Gerd,

this is the box in my Stag which I believe is painted in the original colour but brownish from the oil in the air (left side). The right side shows the overspray from my outside painting.
