What else would you be doing on new years eve - discovered a green/brown wire

    Hi All
I realise most people will be partying - me to, aside from 3 small children in bed and no baby sitter. Wouldn't have any other way.

But while tidying up the car for a new years run tomorrow, I noticed a green and brown wire with spade connector on it next to the relay board under the parcel shelf. It has puzzled me for a while, as everything works on the car works. This connector isn't attached to anything. The only thing I have come across in the forum which may explain it, is the reversing light switch. Now my reversing lights have not worked for a while. Are the two things linked. If so where do I reconnect the spade connector to as it is not obvious.

I have new reversing bulbs fitted as of today, still no joy.

help needed when you get change.

happy new year to all and thanks for the information in advance

Not too sure. A green/brown wire seems to be indicator flasher unit on mine....but is a USA car.

      Hi Tanya
      Happy 2014 from the UK.
Bottom right is the flasher unit, but on mine it upgraded to a new relay which is how i discovered the none connected wire.
Any other thoughts? Maybe some of the guys tomorrow will shed some light it on it for me.

If it's light green/brown Tanya is right. If it darker green/brown it's the wire between the reversing light switch and lamps.

Your car is "slightly" modified but check out the reversing switch, there should be green on one side (12v supply). Green / brown in the other going to lamps. Good luck.

I would work my way through the circuit, beginning with the power feed. Happy hunting!

lol, Yup, just whipped off the dash in 10 secs flat.

I was putting in a modern blade fusebox and the dash had gone for recovering, so I lready had the picture for reference.
              Cheers
