Happy New year all. Hope 2014 treats you all well.
This damm rebuild is making me more grumpy every day and l must apologise to all about my occasional grumpy rants. . . . . .
But after the last rant over trying to find dowel bolts after my 'conversion kit' supplier threw away all the bolts, including the important dowel bolts...
. . . .
Here's my latest Stag supplier shock.....Picked up my very expensive engine rebuild the other day and got round to unrapping it yesterday. Looked really nice, black engine except for a row of yellow painted (build no. ?) script and some cool looking silver paint everywhere else. Although the silver looked good l prefer the original metal colour, which is lucky for me as every time l touch the engine the silver paint flakes off !!!! Making the engine look absolutely terrible.
WTF !!! Why would a company who ' specializes' in rebuilds waste both their time and mine, l'm guessing here, not making sure that the parts are clean and degreased before slapping the engine back together ?..it comes off just by rubbing it.
Now it needs to be taken apart and all that silver paint removed from the few places it stuck to. Who pays for that ??
Also they seemed to have used a red mess around the parts rather than gaskets, didn't change out the sensors or water nipples.. Is that normal ? . . . . .I does make me wonder if they even took it apart or just sprayed everything silver.... NOT at all happy (sorry)
Grumpy old man.
