    aluminum alloy radiator

I may have to invest in a new radiator as my original leaked, part x with Paddocks and got recon radiator that had to go back very soon after as had a pinprick hole in. Next radiator the neck gave way on the inner side and was not due to over tightening, got that repaired via work and Paddocks agreed to pay the repair cost with no problem.
Suspect that the neck may still be a problem so am watching very closely.

This brings me to look at this radiator on fleebay and confused with the specifications it stating " •Vehicle Notes: Manual " mine is a automatic, is this an issue ?

Also states that responsibility for custom import duty if required, has anyone bought this radiator and required to pay any cost ?

Manual and auto cars had the same rad (AFAIK).

Import duty details are on the govt website. I think items of this value will attract some duty, but calcs don't seem to be very straightforwards.

      thanks Chris,
In your opinion if neck has slight leak would K-Seal secure that ?

Word of caution, I bought an Alloy radiator, Chinese manufacture from Ebay and it had a serious leak in the core, and because I bought it 8 months before I fitted it, and because it came from abroad, I didn't feel confident I could return it as defective with a successfull outcome. I used K seal on it which worked ok but it tended to "steam" occasionally. I used it successfully for 2 years but am going to replace it with a locally made item during my current rebuild.

I use Barrs Leaks but its much the same. Trouble with rad necks is that each time the bung is fitted/removed it stresses the neck, so any sealant might be disturbed. My experience of rad neck problems is that its best to get a proper repair done. But then since you had that done already I am not sure what I would advise now.

Dunno about rad necks, but those red neck car alarms are pretty neat jobs.

Looking at prices if you want a alloy one t harts on eBay seem reasonable when you factor customs and postage.
or take yours to a local radiator repair shop and they will recore and do any other work at least you spend your cash in this country .cheers glenn

I am looking at a rad made by Serck/Unipart, 5 core, quite pricey but looks to be a quality item, on their website... Has any body any experience of this product?

Also remember to have a good condition seal under the filler plug.
It means you don't overtighten it and strain the neck..
