Tommorow – 5th of January 2014 (5-1-2014) is a special day for 2 reasons.
1) It is 3 Kings Day here when there are Parades throughout the Canaries including Los Cristianos and all over Spain, where 3 Kings ride through town on Camel back and sweets are thrown to the assembled crowd from the numerous floats that pass by, and if it is like previous years here there will be a local Carnival Queen following sat on top of a Red Triumph Stag.
2) It is also a special day for both me and my wife as it is our 40th Wedding Anniversary, and after watching the Parade and Fireworks, and maybe going on the Fair that is presently in Town, we will be enjoying a nice meal for two at a good local restaurant (and yes I have bought her a present).
Now comes the numbers part :-
If you add the numbers in the Date :- 5 + 1 + 20 +14 you get the answer 40 (the number of years we have been married).
Using the Date again if you put a decimal point in front of the 5 and add the numbers up again you get :-
0.5 + 1 + 20 + 14 = 35.5 ( my Triumph Stag is currently 35 and a half years old).
Double 35.5 and you get my 71 (which happens to be my age – so I am currently twice as old as my car).
A bit of nonsense I know, but for some reason I have always had a bit of a fascination with numbers, my father was an Accountant and my son is an Accountant now, and my daughter has a Financial Degree and her job involves Investing other peoples money. Before retiring I worked in I.T. which too involved numbers to a certain extent (having to know Binary & Hexadecimal etc.). Funny really as I am partly dsyslexic and so is my son.
Must be something in the Genes - be interesting to see what careers our current 5 grandchildren end up in if I'm still alive by then?
