I have just bought some rislan coated greasable driveshafts off ebay, they are new and got them for £150. Have i wasted my money or are they a worthy "mod"
If you have bought the bare shafts, then you have to fit them to your existinginner flanges and outer hubs with universal joints.
The same seller occasionally sells complete driveshafts with the Datsun sliding joint. I haverecently boughta pairof these from him. He frequents this forum under the name of tonypy1. Took me less than 2 hours to fit both shafts yesterday. Any hint of 'twitch' has now gone, hopefully for good.

Jason - as Dave says, you will need to fit your hubs/flanges to them, but you have still paid considerably less than Tony Hart charges for what looks like the same thing, so i think you got a good deal.

That is the fun of eBay. He actually had 2 sets on recently with a start price of £250 and BIN of £320. Isnapped up the first set at £320. The second set stuck at £270 for a while and I was beginning to think I had been a bit rash, but theyeventually went for £370. I'm happy!

I went on to the Datsun Owners Club website and found a link to a Datsun dismantler called Datman. I rang and asked if he had any Datsun 180 B drive shafts. His reply was" Why. Have you got Stag" Looks like our reputation preceedes us! Luckily he was just breaking a 180B and I had the shafts for £45 each. Had to get the machining done before fitting. Possibly the best mod to my car.
Is it just 180B driveshafts which are compatible or are there other needles in this haystack to look out for (ie. Datsun or Nissan RWD)
At our last service a wear inthe driveshafts was suspected by the garage - we do get a clunk from the drivetrain somewhere plus a drone around 60 to 65 mph.
Apart from the machining this mod seems an effective solution and quite cheapif you can find the bits - just checking Ebayand there's a couple of 200SX pairs £40 to £50.

I got mine from Datman £90 a pair, TONYPY1 has quoted £70+p+p to get the machining done. Thats a total of £160 +p+p and I still need to buy the UJs and put em together so £320 is more but at least all youve got to do is fit them.
Tony also informed me that he only machines the hubs as a whole unit as thats how his jig is set up. Im currently rebuilding my spare hubs prior to sending them off to Tony for machining, any one got an idiots guide to replacing the bearings in the rear hubs? Ive got them split without damaging the flanges but understand that a dial gauge is required to set the new bearings up.
Marco Polo from Aus kindly offered to bring me some hybrid UJs over on his next visit, these negate the need to do any machining but are expensive at around £40 a UJ, plus if one goes its a case of getting a replacement from Aus.
