Yesterday I had cause to use the horn when a dipstick pulled across in front of me at a roundbout. Only the high note worked, which was rather embarassing
.
I removed the n/side headlight to check the wiring, which looked to be OK. The wires are such that the supply goes to the high note, then on to the low note. Same with the earth wire. I reversed the wires so that it fed the low note first, and still the only one that worked was the high note. If I remove either thefeed or earth wire fromthe high note, just leaving the low note connected, it works fine.
Electrics are not my strong point, butas the horns are wired in parallel, surely both should work if the connections are correct? Why does the low-note only work when it is connected in isolation, but not when the high-note is also connected?
