    Stag seat belts

I have a Mk 1 Stag and would like to have some rear seat belts fitted, to persuade my girlfriends' friends to jump in the back with no excuses. The front belts are quite frayed and could also do with replacing.

Does anyone know of a company in SE London / Kent who can do this any roughly how much it would cost ?

    Thanks

Hi. I had my front seat belts refurbished by F.D.T.S. in West Byfleet in Surrey. They cost £17.50 - 00 + postage + VAT each in June 2001.

I think a lot of suppliers used them to refurbish customersbelts. They can do different colours if you wish.

Their phone no. is 01932 342043 if they are still in business

I'm assuming Mk1 Stags don't have the mounting points for rear lap belts ?

Last year I fitted some Securon universal full inertia rear belts to the rear of our Stag with any hassle, although the o/s/r was a bit tricky to fine adjust due to the available space behind the cubbies

Bought as NOS from Ebay at £35 the pair plus £8 forstrengthening plates for where I had to drill the additional mounting holes. Then £2 for some Audi 80 estate plastic trims to tidy up the holes in the cubbies.

They've performed really well since, although I've since learnt there is some debate on the benefit of using full belts over just lap belts in the rear of Stags.

Mk1's have the mounting points, just in a slightly different position.

                    Hi Straw,

I sourced oursfrom the local scrappy, they're takenfrom an early to mid '90s Audi estate - they're the ones in the backs of the rear seats.

You willneed to cut the seatbelts to remove them intact, thenextract them fromthe velour whichwasdead easy as they snap together in 2 parts. Fitting to the Stag was straightfoward, just punch a couple of holes in the cubby covering so that the surrounds plastic fixing lugs can penetrate and clip both parts together. Toughest bit was squeezing the seatbelt blade and loop through them(so I didn't have to cut the plastic) - if you've already fitted your seatbelts you will either need to unbolt the loop or cut a slit in the plastic surrounds.

They look just the part in textured black plastic, I will take some pics and post upin the next day or so.
