Cam Covers.

I have two engines complet with cam covers, engine no 1 has the triumph logos both lettered in the same direction ie. the letter base on both covers in nearest the near side, making one look wrong side up... Engine 2 has the logo with letter base at each side which looks correct...is this a British Layland cock up and do any of you have the same issue?

I bought a spare pair of covers and they are like yours, I've seen a few cars with the same setup too.

This has been on before, and as I recall it was something to do with cost cutting I think they stopped doing mirror imiage's and used the same cover on both sides. Might have got the wrong end of the stick.

Typical BL cock-up. There are a lot of covers around where both sides are stamped with the lettering upside down

I think the story goes that the stamping press wore out or broke,so they reverted to the same press for both..so they say
