My car when I bought it had 195's on. I have come across some with 205's on.

I know this subject has been done to death, but most owners go for Minilites I am looking at a set of these, I think with being 5 spoke and black centres they are more in keeping with the originals. I am thinking of 195-60-15s to go on em. I feel I want some more rubber on the road and a slightly lower profile.

195/65-15 are a better size. Any smaller and the speedo will be out and the wheel arches look empty.

Thanks Dave, I have been thinking about changing wheels / tyres since November, I really need to make up my mind and go for it.

I have these to go on my stag and they are running 225's at the moment - i might fit 195's to the fronts though

can some one explain to me the difference between 14' 15; 16 'wheels,(is it as the size goes up the wheel is higher so will fill the wheel arch more) ?

It's the diameter of the rim Dave, edge to edge. so yes the bigger the wheel the bigger space it will fill subject to the profile of the tyre fitted to it. If you start altering the rolling radius too much though you need to think about things like the speedo reading which will be affected.

I run 185/70's with has the affect of making my speedo under read at 70 by about 3 mph. I can live with that.
