It has a light on when headlights are on (I presume like cruise lights) but no indicator.
It still looks to me like the cruise lights without the badge but has anyone else got a clue????

This is getting very confusing. from the picture you posted you have federal front side lamps fitted to the rear. All the lamps are the same size and shape as are the badges on our cars. so all interchangeable.
Ian.
Do you have a name BTW?

I appear to have federal front cruise lights on the rear (flat two parts), with the bulb to the rear acting as a cruise light (not indicator) ie on with headlights.
Unlikely to win any concours awards at Harrogate then!

An amber lens on the side of the car that comes on with the headlights, is that OK in the UK? I would have thought that would fail the MOT as it looks like an indicator but doesn't flash.
Volvo have been doing it for years - side marker lamps aren't statutary lighting so pretty sure exempt from MOT and most artics you see have amber side markers...
