Rover V8 Question

Can anyone tell the the size of spanner / socket need to turn over a Rover V8 from the front pulley.
i know it is recessed quite a way in the pulley so guess it would be a socket.

Would it turn over with the plugs in by hand?

I think the compression would be too strong, easier to take plugs out, I'm sure I did that by hand with mine.

I could "just" turn over the RV8 with the plugs in, in a previous car, using a 2ft 6inch breaker bar on the crank nut.

Theres no way mine would turn over by hand without the plugs out until I had started and had the engine running. Now it will just turn but is hard work...

Even a 4.6 should turn with a standard ratchet and 24mm socket. We never take out the plugs to rotate the crank.

ok thanks, i will try a 15/16th with a breaker bar to see if it will shift.
