Calling all LT77 Gearbox Guru's

Hello.
Having worked out that my reversing lights are not working due to afaulty bulb / earth failure etc etc. I turned my attention to a 'green' wire without a home living under the parcel shelf. Given that I have an LT77 gearbox as one of the mods the PO added, I am thinking that this belongs to an unconnected switch on the gearbox.
Does anyone know exactly where this switch is? Not had the car up on a ramp and the Stag gearbox access hatch on the gearbox tunnel doesn't help me.
Can I get to the switch without going under the car to hunt for it? Some thoughts and suggestions would be welcomed.

Not a chance from underneath. You might just get to it from the top through the gear lever hole.

The probability is though that in order to fit the gearbox to the car a shortened selector set up is required and unless that is done properly the reverse light switch can be made inoperable. On my car the reverse light works but I dont have to lift the gear lever to select reverse which means its easy to select reverse instead of first.... so I have a repeater light on the dash that lights up with the reverse lights.
I also soldered extension wires to the switch before I installed the engine and box. Makes sorting out wiring a whole heap easier.

The reverse light switch on my old LT77 box is on the right hand side of the gear selector housing, and as stagman says, you may be able to access it from above through the gear lever opening.

As Stagman says a lot of selectors have been modified to fit but the switch should be left in place.

I understand the ideal selector linkage is from the LT77 which came out of the Sherpa vans.
