    Oil Leaks!!!

Have decided to try and stop the oil leaks from around the oil pump etc.Firstly I had to cut the right down pipe as PO had the exhaust all welded upto the rear chassis.Once done it was off with the oil filter, housing, oil pump and shaft.Replaced all the o rings in the block, pump, etc.Repaired the oil pressure gauge line and reassembled with a smear of Loctite Mastergasket from pump to block.Had a sleeve made for the exhaust and sealed with Maniseal and clamps. At least it will come to bits easier if necessary!!!!
Had the car out for a spin and now there is only one little drop.I think it's coming from the rocker cover so will check that out sometime. However very happy and what I put off for years was quite easy once one got emotionally prepared. Will now keep fingers crossed.

Dittto, except I unbolted the exhaust - no easy matter that. I was chuffed too afterwards , but I then noticed that I still had a slight leak and I too am hoping that it is from the cam cover as it seems to be coming from higher up than the transfer housing. The cam cover was not tightly screwed on and I'm hoping that is the fix, but I have yet to fire it up to find, out.

I'm left with one small engine leak after much work stopping many but I think this last one is coming from the oil feed to the cam leaking past the head gasket, it only started after I cured my low oil pressure and it starts at the front of the v on the drivers side. Chech all the other possibles so pretty sure it's that so it can wait.

Glad it all went well. I've still got a very slight leak that shows up on the clutch slave cylinder housing. I can't tell where it comes from possibly from behind the bellhousing.

          Hi Nick,
Yep the job went well but I still have a small drop that leaks onto the exhaust.Bugger.However it's certainly better than it was.I think it could be from the oil transfer housing that has the oil cooler pipe and oil pressure gauge fitted!!! It is virtually inaccessible, but appears to have a 3/8 bolt for a 9/16 ring spanner. I thought it might have been from the tapper cover but there is nothing leaking from up there!!! Never mind I have learnt a bit more about the oil pump etc.
          Cheers,
          Anthony
