electric oil pressure gauge

can anyone help, I bought a second hand pressure gauge, tried to fit it but failed, it has a negative spade terminal, positive terminal and at the bottom in the centre a terminal with a yellow wire. then from the engine bay two wires coming from the sensor. any clues please.

are you sure the sender unit and gauge are compatible?

no, did'nt know they had to be, how will I find out?

The standard Stag oil switch is just that, a switch. "on or off" You need to identify the make and model of your gauge then try and find a suitable sender / transmitter for it as Neil suggested.

If you post a picture of it someone may be able to help

2 wires on the sender
one is the gauge connection(yellow)
other is the warning lamp
gauge will be pos+ .neg -and sender(yellow)
that's providing the sender is matched to the gauge

I would suspect that the sender is incompatible. You need to try to find out what make of gauge it is and then source the right sender unit.
The gauge man (Alan..... from above posts) will tell you if that's right though
