    Old car search on DVLA

Looking on the DVLA vehicle search for old cars that I have owned and can see that some are unlicenced etc but is there anyway of telling from the site or elsewhere if they still exist. For example, when searching, would it tell me if the car no longer exist or is that when the database says it cant find the vehicle? I have found my old MK2 Jag I restored and it has been exported

Any tips on searching or getting further info?

    Cheers

The info on the DVLA site is only as good as it is told. If you scrap a car and don't tell them it will stay there until someone does with last info on it. I was told many years ago that if there wasn't any data movements for a vehicle it was taken of the public computer and transferred to archive, I don't know if this is still the case. Probably a lot of vehicles have been scrapped and DVLA don't know as havnt been told. Dave
