    Water pump bolt thread?

I have read that the water pump thread is left handed, I guess this means that bolt threads are normally right handed?, and so I will need to undo this water pump bolt the opposite way to normal?

I thought as its Sunday tomorrow, I would have an easy day, and just remove the water pump, got a fractured bolt to remove, and the previous owner forgot to fit the windscreen trim, so if there's a few minutes spare I'll pop those in...

Thanks Steve and Graham, I followed your advice and it just popped out!

Didn't has such a good start with removing the fractured bolt, I made the mistake of using the drill bit that came with the bolt removal kit, the second size up fractured off level with the bolt, I've just read a post from Graham and he says this often happens with Ezi-out...
I think I'll have borrow a turbine drill from work, connect to compressor and use a diamond bur to get the fractured drill bit out.

My powder steering pulley has a chunk missing as shown in photo. Should I pull this one off and swap it for a second hand one! Does it just remove with a puller?

          Thanks,
          Dave

Has anyone tried those reverse thread drill bits that are supposedly very good at drilling out/removing sheared off bolts. Apparently they can sometimes even remove the sheared bolt by vibration!??

Dave, I think the 2 pulleys just have dowels between them, using the main bolt to hold it all together. The front one should come off the back one with just a pair of screwdrivers as levers.

              Don't lose the dowels!

BTW, I like your powder coating!

              Cheers,
              Mike.

I'll give the screwdrivers a go now. Just need to look out for a new pulley.

I'm impressed. Screwdrivers and computer in action at once. If I do that, I end up with a very dirty keyboard!

                    Glad you got it sorted.

                    Cheers,
