    radiator hoses

    Hi has anyone on here used the flexible hoses and if so are they any good. I am having trouble finding new ones to replace mine as I have a rv8 engine all the stag suppliers do not do anything like mine.I took the top and bottom hoses to robsport today ,Simon a really nice and helpful bloke showed me the stag and rover ones and mine are nothing like them both , I have searched rimmers and the Internet but nothing.So I see these flexible ones from car build solutions and would like some feed back before I order some

    I used 90 deg Silicone hoses with Stainless steel hose clamps and Ally tube joiners and made the shape hoses I needed. Was a pain to get sealed but have managed that now too.
    This is early picture but the top hose is now also made to fit with 2 x 90s a straight ally joiner a temp sender housing and a forty five degree bend. (The radiator has different size outlets than the water pump but this is sorted by using the right "reducer" type silicone hoses

      Hi thanks for the reply, you certainly like the colour red.Where did you get everything from to do this and do they do silicone in mimoso ha ha

        unfortunately the mimosa is not on the colour chart! I got them from an EBAY seller in Mirfield nr Dewsbury.


        Not cheap but seemingly good quality! (I have bought numerous things from these guys and found them to be pretty fair and helpful)

          Agreed. silicone hoses are the way to go.not expensive these days if you buy standard shapes.Internal diameters step up in 2-3 mm increments so a tight fit can always be achieved.Fit and forget .

            Just an added note... If you did as I did and buy Ally tube to cut into the lengths I needed, as there will be no lip on the end of the tube the silicone hose is VERY so smooth inside it has a hell of a time keeping the water inside and the air outside!. I ended up using a smear of gasket sealant on the ends of the ally tube and then tightened the jubilee clips onto the sealed hoses. Now they are properly water tight!

              Cheers for that does look like the way to do it,a bit cheeky I know but you dont have a list for what bits I need for the top and bottom hoses do you ,it will save me a bit of time trying to work out and getting wrong what I need

                Ill send you the list that I used in the morning. If your engine and radiator set up is the same as mine it should work but I have to warn you that my radiator is pushed as far forward as it will go. My power steering pump bracket is totally home made and I have had to use an idler wheel to push the belt below the water pump to bottom radiator hose... all that said the set up could be adjusted fairly easily as the silicon hoses are cut to the length I needed you should be able to make the same elbows reach the same points even if you need different hose lengths.

                Will send the list as promised tomorrow..... just finished work so now is beer time....

                  Hi I have decided to try the flexible ones as my mate who does all the work on my vehicles has known made up hoses to fail due to having so many joins
