    Holley Help Please

My RV8 runs a four barrel Holley, I know nothing about Holley’s and mine needs setting up properly. I have purchased a book from the interweb which may help when it arrives but does anyone know of a good website? It’s obviously not a Hot Rod, just a standard 3.5, I don’t want to go drag racing in it I just want to set it up correctly

Have you tried here http://www.holley.com/TechService/Library.asp or https://www.youtube.com/results?sear...olley+390&sm=3

It depends on whats wrong and which carb is fitted.
If you have a Holley 390 fitted which is what the majority of people fit in the UK and its just a tweak then the Holley tech service will help.
If you are going to try to sort things yourself there are some good informative videos in the Holley tech section but you have to go looking and searching. Failing that a session on a rolling road with someone who knows what they are doing is the way to go. (You can search for rolling roads in Cheshire and then you will have to ring around to see if they know or can help with Holley set up. However You should be able to get things sorted one way or the other
You can get jets and seals and other bits etc from http://www.realsteel.co.uk/

      Failing that.......
If you have anything other than the 390 then you will get told all sorts of things in the UK that basically tells you the carb is rubbish. In the States however things are different but it is hard to get the info out of the States because they are not going to see your car in their workshops... however there is a TR8 specialist that puts Holley kits together that uses the Holley 600 carb and they are able to jet it and set it up for the cars to run fine. In the Uk you will get told that it is impossible to set up a 600 for a RV8 engine.
I was given a Holley 600 for my RV8 whilst in the states working and I had every intention of using the carb and rebuilding it. However when I got it in bits I discovered a damaged float chamber and by the time I had priced all the parts that I required just to get it to a condition to run the engine it was cheaper to buy a Edelbrock carb brand new (Ill get you the link for that in a minute) That was before the car had been run and then I would be in the position you are in now trying to get it tuned for the engine. If it needs jets primary and secondary and then each time the jets are changed the carb needs another set of seals. Although the parts are not that expensive really but the hit and miss type of tuning without help was not rocking my boat!
I bought a brand new Edelbrock 500 which was bolted to my manifold (It will bolt to the same face as the Holley) made the connections and everything fired up and with the info that comes with the carb I easily was able to set the idle mixture and idle speed and if the main jets ned changing they can be changed on the car in a few minutes.

Try Ian at Monarch too, he is very helpful, knows all there is to know about the RV8 and knows and supplies the correct jets.
