Triumph 2500 MK2 Estate with a Stag engine

    Hello Stag friends,

here you find an interesting article about a 2500 Mk2 with a Stag engine from a German car mag:

Careful: When you scroll down, you can open part 2 with a picture gallery. It is a four wheel drive by the way.

    Enjoy!
    Dieter - from Germany.

      Hello Ian and others,

I am afraid this article is in German, but the pics explain themselves...

      Best wishes,
      Dieter.

You only have to put the URL into Google Translate Dieter, it then becomes fairly readable.

That is Mike Weaver's car I think. He spent a lot of time restoring it and during the restoration it appeared at the NEC in November and at Stoneleigh a number of times. he did the RBRR 2012 in it too.

          Cheers,
          Mike.
Mine since 1987. Finished a 20+ year rebuild in 2012. One of many Triumphs and a 1949 LandRover!

Yes, I saw it at the stop at Sixpenny Handley. It was going well, apparently.

And there is no Stag in it - it has a Rover V8 3.5 engine!!!!

Yep, I've read elsewhere that the original Triumph V8 conversions were sold as Triumph Stag Estates - that was until Triumph got all 'heavy on his arse' and sent him some stiff warning letters.

Very rare car indeed if proven to be an original 'Del' Lines bodyshell.

That's about the third time that has come up on ebay recently - with the same photos. I guess it isn't finding a buyer! It was mentioned on here last time it came up.

The white Triumph has the same background as the Stag 4x4's if it is the one I am thinking of. It was converted by Formula Ferguson to fwd in an attempt to convince Triumph that 4WD was the way to go. (The only place their 4x4 system found a home on a production line was the Jensen Interceptor FF).

                    regards

                    Dave
