    Clock...

    Hi...

I finally got my Stag last weekend & I've been doing the inevitable tinkering but I just can't get the clock the work - I've read they're notoriously temperamental. I've dismantled it and all of the parts seem to work (although I can't test the circuit board). The wiring is also good as it powers the fuel guage. If I shake it, the clock works for about 30 seconds due to the magnetic action.

Has anyone had a clock serviced...or is there much of a second hand market for them??

    Thanks..

Yes, had mine repaired by John Ostrick, the second hand had falled off and it wouldn't keep time.

        Hi Ian

Just a suggestion.... throw the clock away and fit an oil pressure gauge in it's place - much more useful.

Nooooo, Mr Triumph fitted a clock, so a clock it should have!

The stag clock is by reputation, right twice a day, I would certainly look at fitting a quartz inner if I was intending to use it as a clock.

The stag needs an oil pressure gauge and the simple solution is to remove the useless clock and replace it with a gauge. However MG's have a dual temp/oil pressure gauge which I have seen fitted which retains the clock and preserves the look of the dashboard.

I would advise any new owner to fit an oil pressure gauge then you can get the stag squint! one eye on the temp gauge ,one on the oil pressure and the other on the road

Partially agree - throw it away and buy a quartz one that works.
