    floor panels

    Hi

I was recently taking up my old carpets to change for new when I noticed in the passenger foot well a circular disk shape in the floor , Out of curiosity I put my hand underneath and gave it a light tap ......... The circular disk then shot up loose from the floor

My question is ........ what are these discs for as I have noticed that there are 4 in total and what are there use , Also if anyone has any experience in this how do I go about fixing it back in , It looked like it had just been glued in but that may be from the bodger I bought the car from

Any advise would be greatly received

    Hi Martyn,

It is commonly believed that they were to assist with the construction of the car and they perform no useful function thereafter.

I have seen them held in place by a couple of pop-rivets and sealant, or just sealant.

    Welcome to the forum BTW

As Dave says they are jig holes I would avoid rivets ,steel and aluminium and electrolytic action and all that .In the factory they just used sealant to hold them .
