    Camshaft bearing nuts

    HELP PLEASE
Having some winter work done and while the rocker covers are off, have noticed that the camshaft bearing nuts are missing - should I be worried?
We only noticed as a comparison had been made to the Haynes manual - which appear to show nuts where Salstag (SAL93N) has none. (see attached)
They may have been left off from earlier engine work - but I wondered if anyone can advise whether they are important and should be replaced.??
Thanks in anticipation of all you knowledgeable and ever helpful stag dudes.

Note about the two pics - we put a temporary one in place but thought we should ask you guys!

Confused - the nut in pic one should only be there during engine disassembly (head or cam removal), not on a working engine.

So what is it you think is missing?
Header tanks - you can't beat a bit of bling.

As Wilf says, you only attach a nut on the end thread to "sandwich" the timing chain camshaft retainer (the tin arm which the camshaft thread pokes through) when tightened up against the camshaft housing it nips the camshaft in place so you can carry out various other work.
Check it out in the manual.
