    Mot Passed

Hi All My Stag Passed MOT today
Mot tester was a great guy He advised me that the brake lights where not working and let me wiggle the switch all ok again so he passed it.
Now where can i find a decent metal brake light switch as this is the third plastic switch that has failed on me.(crap parts again)
so now all set for free tax in April.
    Cheers Glenn

    Hi Glen

Congrats on the MOT. If you find a good metal style switch please let me know as I have had the same problem on both our cars.

    Regards

I used to burn out brake light switches regularly, I think because I did a lot of towing, so I wired in a relay. Never a problem since.

David F it is not burning out it is the plastic construction that is the problem.

Dave i have been playing with the zf has bitten me a few times.Have a very nice deep dig in left wrist too deep to bleed. lol speedometer is within limits. Will need to take on a good motorway cruise next. So much better like a different car, new problems have arisen need to sort out idle speed and once again engine running to cool.

Well done! My multi-coloured 1973 manual TV8 also passed the MOT last week after being sorned and worked on for over a year (see my album). No "wiggles" required and no advisories. Roll on 1 April when I can join all you free spirits and blue skies.

If I remember correctly (long time since last failure - that's inviting trouble!!), the plastic structure used to fail, but it was because it had overheated because of the poor contact and the current flowing through the switch. Any help?
