    Clutch Slave Cylinder Recommendation

My clutch slave cylinder failed this morning. There is a score in the bore so I want to get a replacement rather than a seal set. Should i stick with a more expensive delphi or TRW one or are the lower cost ones any good?

    Any recommendations or opinions appreciated.

    Mark.

The difference in price is about £20. Do you want to change it again in 6 months if it fails again for £20?

Terry, is this a generic 'you get what you pay for' comment or do you have experience of the cheaper ones failing?

      Thanks,

Worth changing the master cylinder as well at the same time. I went through three or four slave cylinders. It was only when I changed the master as well that I got a slave to last.

My opinion and experience shows that anything that has rubber in its worth paying for the OEM part - especially with hydraulic items. The cheaper pattern parts never last. I replaced the clutch slave on my Landy once with a pattern part - half the cost of the OEM one - it lasted 6 months. The OEM replacement is still fine 10 years later! Same is true of the rear wheel cylinders.
