Here you go. And yes, that clip is essential! This diagram is from the Repair Operations Manual. Might be worth getting a copy or downloading from: http://www.grampianstags.net/StagManual.pdf
The diagram I've posted seems to show two, but I've only ever seen the one with a clip. I've been out to check all the ROM editions I have and they all show that diagram, but the Haynes manual only shows the diagram with the clip.

I fink the one without the clip is a very early Tecalamit manufactured version - my guess is you would never find an early one due to the huge benefits of the AC filter with decent bypass assembly and it's an obvious retrofit
I've taken a look at the ROM instructions and all seems straightforward. But being used to changing spin-on filters, I'm just a little concerned about reassembly regarding the various internal springs and washers !
I'm sure it will all make even more sense once removed but rather than assume at this stage, are there any key tips ?
