    How did I miss this

This is the bit of corrosion on the n/s/f chassis leg that I some how missed when I was under there doing all that welding ,I put it down to the fact that the space in the garage is so limited that I just didn't see it .
Its either that or stupidity ,I have cut the rust out and made a reinforced patch to go in the hole I will weld it in tomorrow and post a picture of the finished thing ............. hopefully

I have split the outrigger because it was dented so whilst I was under there I thought I would split it beat out the dent and then weld it back up

I have the exact same problem as this. when you cut out the rot did you have to provide support to each side of the chassis member?
also there appears to be another box section inside the outer chassis member that looks also very rusty. did you have the same issue?
I intend to have a go at repairing this myself and buy a Mig welder. I've never welded before so will do some practice first!

Yes its common for them to rust on the front chassis leg , yes your right its the box with in a box, depens how bad your rust is they can rust on the sides of the chassis leg,, when you make the repairs dont gorget to put a hole in the chassis leg so you can get wax oil inside after you repair

The drain holes often stop working when they get pushed higher when jacking without using a pad.

              Hi,
I've nearly stripped everything from my Stag and have just started scraping off old underseal and paintwork from the underside. I have quite a bit if rust to attend to and will be fitting new floor panels, boot pan, front outriggers and anything else that looks suspect. Can anyone recommend paint products for covering the bare metal and welds. It looks like most original parts were primed with red oxide then painted black on the underside. Also looks like I need to cut out some rusty flaking edges of the dash frame and weld in new edges unless anyone knows where I can buy a second hand dash frame in a reasonable condition.
