Just spent all afternoon trying to get the bolt out of the bottom arm where it bolts the cross member. I intended to just change a split boot before mot time but decided to change the joint as it seemed a bit floppy-and I had a new one anyway. Unfortunately it turned into one of those jobs you wish you had never started-should have smelt a rat when the tight nut came off without the bolt turning---the bolt was seized solid in the bush. I squirted it, pushed it, thumped it not a prayer so I ended up sawing the head off with an air saw(quite a lengthy job) the managed to wriggle the arm out hooray!!! Had to drive the remnants of the bolt out with a drift where it had rusted into the bush (all for the sake of a bit of anti seez on assembly) rest assured the new bolts will be liberally coated in anti seez on reassembly.
anyone else had this sort of fun!!
