    Grounding

Since I had the front springs replaced three months ago to pull down the front (RV8 fitted by PO but springs not changed) I find I am grounding over bumpy country roads too often to be comfortable. But presumably this is now the correct ride height as enjoyed by all the rest of conventional TV8 engined Stags. As far as I can see the exhaust is tight against the floor, so do the rest of you suffer a loud BLING every now and then - or do the rear springs just get tired? (185/70 on Wolfrace).
    Advice much appreciated.

Mine grounds at the front occasionally, tending to scrape / dent the offside downpipe. Didn't cure the occasional grounding, never tried, but welded a bump skid to the front cross member adjacent to the exhaust which saves it getting hit.

TV8 ,lowered by 1"(13.5" centre of wheel to underside of arch) no grounding issues, it's even ok with speed humps so not sure how rough the roads are where you live but I would check the hight from wheel arch or your springs are very soft May be.

Admittedly I drive like a bit of an old granny these days, in deference to my old girl (car), but I've never grounded my standard car on Somerset roads.

You could try dumping the ballast you appear to have in the back seat

I went a bit enthusiastic down a big bombhole on sunday (orton/tebay area if anyone is familliar) and she grounded out, mines standard height, although under normal driving this wouldnt have happened.

THanks for responses. On reflection I think it may be worth trying Chris Witor's rubber rings. Not sure if 7.5mm will cure it but we'll no doubt see.

                Roads? In Zummerzet?

I thought they went out when the Ark came in....

Mine only goes to ground when he's being hunted... .

The roads disappeared and an ark would have been useful for most of this year in much of Somerset (God's own county )

                  Cheers

Right problem solved we think. It's grounding on the front exhaust clamps by the first section (Rover engine remember). My local village garage is going to cut, bend and shorten the two front curved pipes which should lift the exhaust up perhaps 15 - 20mm.

Hope not, can't think of anything else, seems logical on the face of it - but booked in 15th - will let you know.

Your front springs may have been replaced but are they the correct rate i.e. lower but too soft now?
Not sure what they would need to be but there must be info around that you could find out, some one on here will probably be able to help.

Springs came from Monarch to lower by 1.5 in - so have to presume they were A1.
