Odometer not working

Finally got my stag ready for the MOT. Due next wednesday. It has been fighting against it right until the end with various last minute hitches.
Anyway, I find the speedo is working but the mileage (both main and trip) are not advancing - not an issue for the MOT hopefully.
Does anyone know if there is any likelyhood I could fix this myself? Could it be something simple.
If not, can anyone recommend anyone to fix it ?

Could be as simple as the gears between the speedo cable and the odometers. I would take the speedo apart (the ring with the glass comes off after rotating ca 45°) and look for obvious broken or loose bits.

Mine stopped working too. And then restarted shortly afterwards. I believe it may have been due to my incorrectly release of the trip meter zeroing cable, might be worth a fiddle with that before you take the speedo apart.
