Just returned home from work in temperate Brisbane to be greeted by Cyclone Ita, 240 km/h winds and flash flooding expected Friday morning! Marvellous! Time to put a life jacket on the Stag.

Its tough in the tropics!
You better get kitted up mate, said you should have done that trimix course
It hasn't really hit us yet, getting lots of rain and high winds, it's so slow moving but should get here tonight around the same time as the high tide, that will mean flooding too. We are only 100 mtrs from the beach but 9mtrs above sea level, I hope that will keep us dry!
cheers,
Raoul
Thanks for the messages guys, much appreciated, looks like we are over the worst of it now, no damage, in our area just lots of leaves, palm fronds and branches littering the place. Looks like the Cairns region dodged another bullet. Those in Cooktown weren't quite so lucky, they lost the roof from the pub!
