    Alternator replacement.

It looks like my Alternator will need replacing and I looked on E Bay as well as the regular suppliers and Bad Boy Classics are showing new ones for £ 44.99 with free postage . I would not expect you lads to comment on the creditability of the suppliers but they have an excellent good feedback . http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TRIUMPH-ST...item2eb7886129
As you see they have the pulley and the fan included as well as free postage, sounds to good to be true. Dont want to buy an inferior Chinese look alike or should I buy a refurb exchange one and pay £45 + deliver +vat and the return carriage and get a bill for £ 90 it is very tempting. any thoughts?

I just ordered an 18 ACR High Output 65 Amp Brand New Complete Alternator with Pulley & Fan from Bad Boy Classics which hopefully will fit OK, have a higher output and is only £40.95 with free p&p.
Then, an hour after buying it on ebay, I thought I'd have a look at the forum - may have been a better idea to have checked before pressing the 'buy-it-now' button !!!
Looking at older threads, I think that these cheapies are OK so fingers crossed

I bought the 80A alternator from EJ Ward 6 years ago, and it has been working without any trouble and keeps the battery well charged even though I have uprated headlights.

How have you been getting on with this alternator, it seems very good value for the output ?

But I also see that the Bad Boy Classics 65 amp is currently on offer at just £40, almost seems to good to be true !

I've recently upgraded to the 4 dip / 4 main relayed highlight configuration (using a modified E J Ward kit) and just want to boost the charging to compensate

I have one as well, I think seaking bought his after mine, my halogen headlights pull 520 watt, twin fans Ect and it copes very well. I cant comment on the £40 one but for me the bigger the better (within reason of course) Graham
